State-of-the-Art Eye Care Facility Set to Open in Virginia
Norfolk, Virginia, July 12, 2005 - In September of 2005 The Granger Group and Virginia
Eye Consultants will celebrate the opening of a state-of-the-art, 30,000 square foot facility.
The V.E.C. headquarters is situated on a 5-acre peninsula of wooded land on the Eastern
Branch of the Elizabeth River. The buildings' design incorporates its' wooded setting while
reflecting elements of design introduced to the area by Thomas Jefferson. The design and
construction take full advantage of the existing site characteristics, allowing patients to
experience views that are comforting and inviting with both indirect and direct sunlight;
both important factors in the healing process.
Patient and family alike are welcome to participate in Ophthalmic experiences with full
views of the surgical room through a floor-to-ceiling glass wall allowing family members
to remain close to their loved one. The V.E.C. offers a full spectrum of lasers to treat
glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and refractive errors (LASIK).
The building also boasts a dedicated research department, 17 exam lanes, numerous special
testing rooms, a coffee bar, and wireless internet that's available to staff and visitors.
