
New Building is Home to Bursville Surgical Properties, L.L.C.
Burnsville, Minnesota, December 1, 2006 - The new Orthopedic Consultants of Burnsville,
Minnesota project consists of the construction of a new ambulatory surgery center (ASC),
orthopedic clinic,
tenant suite, imaging center, and physical therapy suite. The project
represents a total
of 49,000 square feet.
The ASC portion of this project represents approximately 12,300 square feet and
consists
of three full size operating rooms with associated sterilization, decontamination,
processing, packing, and storage facilities. It has twelve pre-operative and six post-
operative cubicles to prepare patients for surgery and to aid in patient recovery. It
also has a nurses station and men’s and women’s locker rooms. It contains its’ own associated administrative, billing, and records storage, along with a centralized
waiting area and patient discharge.
The Imaging and Diagnostic testing area is 2,100 square feet and contains a DEXA room,
MRI with associated control and equipment room, and a viewing room. It also has its’
own administration, billing, and records storage and has restroom facilities. The Imaging
and Diagnostics testing area will share a central waiting room with the tenant space. The
tenant space is approximately 6,340 square feet.
The Orthopedic clinic represents approximately 15,886 square feet and houses ten private
doctors’ offices, five exam pods that each contain five exam rooms, three casting rooms,
two, x-ray rooms, an it too has its’ own associated administrative, billing, and records
storage. A shared central waiting area will be in this section of the project as well.
The Physical Therapy suite represents approximately 5,264 square feet and consists of five
treatment rooms, a hand therapy area, an exercise room, men’s and women’s rooms, and
associated administrative, billing, and records storage, as well as, a central waiting area.
The project has two floors with slab-on grade construction. The exterior of the building
will be pre-cast concrete panels with alternating banding reveals, glass curtain wall, and
metal panels to screen the mechanical units.
The building also features a covered drop-off area at the large reception check-in space.
This is easily identified by a steel and glass canted canopy.
The project sits on approximately a 3.75 acre portion of the 5.6 acre site at the corner of
Burnhaven Drive and McAndrews Road. The site planning strategy anticipates a second
retail or office building to the west of this project, to be constructed in the future with a
similar site orientation and parking layout.
